The U.K. government has temporarily removed stamp duty
on domestic properties up to £500,000 to try to lift housing sales . However rising unemployment is not helping.
Open ended property funds have been suspended by the F.C.A.
and when they reopen it looks that daily and weekly withdrawals will not be allowed .It looks as through the funds will have a designated time to allow a sale of properties within the fund and
stop a fire sale at low prices.
Commercial property ,retail shops , are now struggling and it looks
as though we are going to see plenty of empty ones. Planning applications are going to be eased soon to allow conversions into living accommodation but this will not solve the problem.
Communities have to be rebuilt and jobs created.
